  Calling the next generation of young arrangers! Here’s your chance!

  Absolutely NO covers of standards!   Enough already with that.  Boring with a capital B. I want new, young writers who know the past but want to shape the future.   You’ll be competing for space against, Sebesky, Abene, Florence, Holman, Jones as well as younger writers such as Darmon Meader and Michael Mossman.

    No nostalgia!.  Only, modern, forward-thinking aggressive writing that is mostly ensemble oriented is the preference.  Solo space is great but the one thing you’ll find about our book is how I steer toward solid ensemble features that allow the entire band to explore it’s full sonic potential.  Big, full and lush ballads (with a groove!) all the way to a rip-your-face off latin tune are all desired.

       Ready to push the boundaries of large ensemble jazz?  Good! Also, arrangements written for the BBB may be published under the Birdland Big Band name to help get you and your writing exposure and sales.  Get in touch!
